Last night I suited up and drove through DTLA at night for the first time for Dita Von Teese's Valentine's Burlesque Gala at The Orpheum Theater. 💖 Driving through the dystopian DTLA landscape with neon signs gives Los Angeles the Trip Hop allure fawn over. 💖 I had The Cure blaring on the speakers and reminisced on the first time I had the privilege to see Dita Von Teese perform. 💖 I had the pleasure to attend Strip, Strip Hooray! at Club Avalon on April 13, 2016. The show concluded with The Opium Den performance and I still day dream about it. It made such an impression that it burned into my memory. I love elegance and spectacle. 💖

Last night was amazing! All of the performers blew me away. I particularly went wild for Tosca and the giant metal hoop collapsing around her as she gracefully dances. She demonstrated some truly impressive acrobatics with that giant metal ring, I was both awe-struck and exhilarated. Dirty Martini never fails to impress with costuming and performance. Miss Astrid Burlesque has the spirit of Morticia Addams with the leather turned up to 100. Watching her crack a red leather whip enthusiastically in her black leather studded bikini was a fantasy. Black sleek bob, red lips. Meow. 🔥🔥🔥 ALL of the male performers were outstanding. I particularly enjoyed our jovial emcee, Jonny McGovern.

I was thrilled to see the audience in their Sunday best. Some of the looks I saw were red carpet worthy. I was in a black tailored suit with spiked shoulders. My white collared shirt had tiny black skulls with heart eyes spotting it. I wore larger than life iridescent black shoes with sparkling blue bejeweled shoelaces. I wore red lipstick under my mask.

Came home to find a gorgeous gift waiting for me at my door. I was gifted flowers wrapped in black. The leaves are a gloomy blackened purple. A black scented card affectionately signed in white. The deepest purple roses I have ever seen. I smell the card and fawn some more.

Fell asleep listening to The Cure's More Than This.
