027 eorzea scouting

Slowly progressing through the story. At times I get overwhelmed with how big the world of Eorzea is. Gurl it's massive! The amount of tasks you can do in this game are staggering. I named my chocobo Whisper. Despite often forgetting to take him out while I lurk the open world, he's adorable. He helps me battle. I love that I get a sidekick chocobo I get to call every time I use gysahl greens. They should bring back chocobo hot and cold. The mount is very helpful, it levels up beside you and becomes more competent in battle as the levels progress. How cool is that?

When I get a pet in-game I want it to be a moogle. It would be so nice to call it Mog. I think I'll name it either Atla or Monev, after the quest that I couldn't complete back in Y2k. At the time I didn't think Cleyra's Trunk was a temporary stage, but I quickly learned. At least I got it done the next three playthroughs. See, it's all about learning from your mistakes. ๐ŸŒš๐ŸŒš

I was level 38 by the time I upgraded from Thaumaturge to Black Mage, but I did it! It was such a delight to achieve it. So far I have really enjoyed doing dungeons, and at times that takes me away from seeing the story through in the game. I'm done with job quests for now, just got to roll through the 5656345 hours of story left. Pray for me not to skip all the cut scenes. I'll max Gloomy Cat out by next year, I promise. ๐ŸŒš๐ŸŒšThat's just a joke, but I have found how jealous I am with my time while I play this game.

I love Final Fantasy XIV because of how easy it is to immerse yourself in the realms of magic. Square-Enix never fails to impress me with their attention to detail in all their games. Character design and costuming is also memorable and fun; even if at times out of place. This aspect of their game design is a hook for me, I love seeing how they can re-imagine  a concept and still have it be unique and attractive every time. All their unique little details come together in what matters. There is a reason why they have such a loyal and devoted fan base.

How cool is Haukke Manor? The gothic fantasy design is so strong in this dark dungeon. This is definitely my favorite so far from all the ones I have experienced. It also reminded me of an old 3DS game I used to really enjoy playing called A Witch's Tale. ๐Ÿ’œ

Why is it that I find fierce beasts cute? IDK, but this friendly scorpion looks like he's having a real lighthearted evening. Sharing laughs, using your finger as an apรฉritif. Delightful.

With the summertime going into slumber, I am very excited for the autumn. This past year was one of much growth and personal recollection. I learned to prioritize time to have fun, and tried not to be so militant with work performance. Strove to make a conscious effort to live mindful of wellness and nutrition, found new passions, learned to cook new dishes. In 2020 I found I really love French baked sweets with tea, I discovered my love for jasmine tea, I decided to take up embroidering (in the very eventual future,) and I learned to compartmentalize more. My hair has gotten so long I feel like a gothic Rapunzel. I accept my fate. ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’œ

This year I turn 32. A subject to contemplate in the weeks leading up to it. What did I learn? Resilience.

Check out how adorable Chris' Black Mage chocobo mount is. I love that his chocobo bird is wearing the steepled hat. That's a tell-tale sign of a real Black Mage. Each class has the coolest gear, too. I love that the game allows you to glamour your favorite gear even if you're wearing something else for stats. They let you keep your aesthetic on point without having to sacrifice anything. Shout out to Chris for teaching me the ins-and-outs, shouldering the task of training me and making a point to be the best DPS in every dungeon battle. Teach me, Sensei!! ๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ’ข

Wishing you a lovely rest of your week. I'll be plowing through the endless story.
